Thanks to you all Keen sprites received a big boost in terms of amount of rotations, here you are how many are actually present (thanks a bunch Nisaba!)

I don't quite understand the logic of your sprite folder. let's for e.g. take a look a the Dopefish graphics. Why on earth are most of the rotations in triplicate? and which Dopefish graphics are still missing? please enlighten me.

No need to worry, the sprite folder can be a bit confusing :) The reason why some sprites are in there 3 times is easy: Itβ€˜s always the side facing sprites.

Doom uses a total of 8 directions for sprites. Doing 8 directions in total would be a huge task and also very difficult so we reduced them to 4 directions, where northeast, east and southeast are combined and so are northwest, west and southwest. The special directions are south and north facing the player or facing away.

Thank you kindly for approval of my posts, and yes I thought that about activation. In fact if I try to share some links belonging to this forum on facebook, I need to perform captchas
Anyway happy to be here now, once and then I'll keep you up to date with BoA Keen progress :dopekeen

About the sprite sort on BoA, many are just dummy entries to have the engine load properly without errors but in case of DopeFish (grazie per l'italiano ahah) we plan to use your additional attack frames as random anims when an attack occurs. Since Doom needs at least 1, 5, 8 or 16 frames for each rotation, atm we used frames we are okay with as rotation replacements, we want to keep things simple but obviously being in a somewhat 3d space and in First Person perspective we need to care about rotations (and at later stage even brightmaps imho which will give a modern impact visually)

Ok, so is it correct that the east facing Dopefish will get mirrored for the opposite three directions (northwest, west and southwest)?

Looking at your folder I'm afraid a view mistakes have slipped in.

As I understand it this is logic of the Dopefish arrangement, right?
  • CKDFAx = swimming I
  • CKDFBx = swimming II
  • CKDFCx = biting I
  • CKDFDx = burping
  • CKDFEx = biting II
  • CKDFFx = biting III
  • CKDFGx = biting IV
I think you've swapped CKDFA5 and CKDFC5 (respectively CKDFD5, CKDFE5, CKDFE5, CKDGE5).
And you've swapped CKDFB5 and CKDFC5.

Next to that I'd suggest to use a copy of CKDFA1 for CKDFB1 as well. :dopefish

Yes that might work, but in case if people here is willingly to add more rotations obviously they are welcome

Thanks for those, yeah some oversights from me and old stuff, working in-between 2 projects (BoA and BlooM) doesn't help to have mind clear :o
Fixed more and added proper frames for backfacing open mouth attack frames, so DopeFish is nearly done and if we go for just 4 rotations it needs Burp frames.

Going to make a list of missing frames so everyone here will have a clearer idea of where to go with.
