Why is that?

Enough of worrying about keen64. I don't think they will be competing.

So, Mr.Samurai seems like you now got a project on your hands, people are willing to donate graphics and stuff, so it may be the time to organize it.

I'm not worried (if I was I wouldn't be offering my assistance in graphics, haha, in fact I hope he has just as much progress as I have had), I just want to make sure Clinton understands Keen 64's goal so he knows why they couldn't compete. Not that it's a big deal, I just like to clear up misunderstandings :)

i think that a rom hack is not that good of an idea due to the difficulty
a community fan game is easier to make

This project sounds great!

I'd like to provide music if that's okay with you, since it's the only thing I'm able to contribute with.

I wonder how the Pogo is gonna work?

In Super Mario 64, he can only jump. Maybe if you make the FIRST jump a "normal" jump, but the second and third jump is Pogo-jump, since they both go higher than the first?

Considering how Mario can make high jumps on two/three consecutive jumps, it could be hacked to never high-jump after a normal one and only high-jump on a certain button press.

Yes, it'd take effort, but heck, there are people here who actually manage to hack the Keen executabes to make it do crazy stuff, so why not?

True, but doesn't that mean that the game has to be redesigned? Being able to do those jumps with such an ease makes everything alot more easy.

Yeah, it would if you want to have an actual Keenish game.

A different but less Keenish way to do it is to keep the original behaviour and put a pogo on Keen when he's making a high jump, of course.

Exactly what I said earlier.

I'd love to see it happen. Carpe Diem.
Compromising folks drive cars. Wise folks ride bikes and trains. Clever folks ride pogo-sticks.
