Hey, nice to know you're still going with this. And hahaha, that video is great. You should release a separate mini-mod with just that one level! :crazy

I just noticed you have the wrong year, Super Mario Bros. was released in 1985 ;)

Ahh, true! 1983 was the year the NES was released.

This made me laugh.

Heh, I thought the year was wrong, but I wasn't quite sure enough to post.

Wow! That was surprising! Very clever indeed! :mortlol :garg :wormouth It's funny that no one has ever been talked or tried to remake Keen 1-3 with the Keen Galaxy engine to date. It looks and plays good.

A nice ending. How much space did those level tiles take out? It's not hard to move them from foreground to background tiles (Which have more room.) I hope you didn't use the whole Keen1 tileset!

Heavens, no! It took about 60 8x8 tiles, using just the ones I needed. And by the way, colliding with the pat-pat's and the green spikes *does* result in death, even though it wasnt shown in the video. I made sure I gave all the tiles their appropriate properties using CK456Tli.

Hah, that's funny. :) By the way, great to hear you're continuing the work on this mod.

60 8x8 tiles
Whoah! How'd you manage that? That'd be an AWESOME expansion of what we can do!

I copied the 8x8 tiles (the platform tiles, pat-pat, green spikes, items, and animated id sign, etc. Just the tiles that the first level used) by hand from the Keen 1 tileset and pasted them into the Keen 4 foreground tileset. I used KeenGrout to make sure the tiles lined up properly in the K4 tileset.

All it took was a few modifications using CK456Tli to make them work like they did in Keen 1.

I know I'm not always the best at explaining things, so I took a snippet from my K4 tiles:

This is potential proof that with some patching (??), one could make a Keen 1 -> Keen 4 total conversion. But I'm not familiar with *making* patches, nor do I really think I ever will be, so correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be sooooo great to have Keen 1,2 and 3 in Keen 4,5,6-style!
Are you going to do that? Need help? :-)

I probably won't do it for quite some time if I even do decide to do it. I just made that level as a joke/proof of concept sort of thing. If someone else decides to do that, I might be willing to lend a hand.

I have this thing where I like to only have one mod in progress at a time.
