Good stuff. This'll help me out in the future. :)
My mod keeps breaking when I try to replace the story text >:
I'm really hating how rigid this is.
I do believe that when you replace text, since in actuality you are modifying the hex values, your replacement text must have the same amount of characters (that includes spaces), and must contain no quotation marks.

Although I could be horribly wrong.

Try adding this to your patch file.

%patch $A497 $C3

That should give you 520 characters total for the ordering info screen.

The patch is removing the text, not the yorp and garg. Don't worry, though, I just disabled the ordering info altogether to solve the problem. :)

I sent the file to you; it's in a forwarded message because I forgot to attach the file the first time. It's open source, so you can build upon it, so long as you credit me with the Bonevelous logo provided in the game. :)

The plot, not included in the game, is that you're in a bloog's mind trying to escape. It's meant to be mildly relaxing, as long as you're not too obsessed with collecting points. ;)

All you vorticons modders should start to use Keengraph instead of Modkeen which will soon be completely outdated.
+ Keengraph does sprite masking for you
+ Keengraph handles the finale picture as well
+ Supports lemm-era modding

- Not fully compatible with Mindbelt yet (sprites don't look that nice) but I heard Mink is working on this

Also you all should use the Neural Stunner for standard textpatches.

My maps are done. Just need to replace the title sprites and work on the helptext and junk. Will there be an ending sequence? Depends on my level of laziness :dopekeen

Drats, there goes my attempt to lie low until CK Guy returns soon and he can do it himself... I mean, um, yeah that's nearing the top of my todo list.

And another program that happens to be a little more flexible in the post-Lemm patch department is Lass's excellent Startext (Yes I am advertising Lass's ware over my own in return for her recommendation a while ago :celtic)

edit: and yeah, actually working on my mod -- got the basic feel + mechanics down.

'nother edit: and for the uninitiated, here's a link for Startext: http://levellord.rewound.net/STARTEXT.zip

Levellord isn't a part of this community and she STILL mods Commander Keen. :dopefish

Is it okay if the question mark and exclamation mark in the end sequence stays the same? And can I keep planet Earth as it is?

There must be an issue with hotmail or something? I sent you one more mail called "bloogbrain," if it doesn't work, I'm gonna need a different way to send it to you. :confused

Quotation marks can be included if the patch has them as $22 instead of "
Text can be any length if you find some space and also patch the pointer to the text to use the new location.

how do I eliminate the yorp and the garg in the ordering info screen?
Is this still wanted? Did anyone find the patch?

Got my entry done, it's only a 1 level mod, to fit with the story. Sadly, it took more than a day to do due to music bugs.

Music bugs? You can get music in Keen1??? :drool

Also, I haven't received any submissions from you or Bonevelous yet.

I haven't done anything yet and decided that I won't be doing, either -- I've got a sort of nice idea and I don't want to waste it by trying to make something too fast when I really can't do modding fast. Not sure if I ever get as far as releasing something made using this idea, but if I make it, it won't happen too soon. :old
