Woah, seriously? :O
No, no, don't do that. I like these first-impression interpretations.

I guess my "kangaroo" impression nobody agrees with comes from the first time you meet them and they jump so high, but then the keen 3 end screen shows their face is more dog-like.

Well, there's a commander keen 64 in the works. I just thought the 2nd fanart looked like what keen 3 would be if keen 64 ever makes it that far. ;)

I think you should totally work together with Lava89 to do the art direction for Keen 64. Your colour palettes are very pretty.

Your forgetting that keenishness is dependently fixed to the EGA palette, so even if keen 64 were to go full 256 VGA, it would just be for the distance shading, which are all gradients of each of the 16 EGA colors based on light saturation (and all WHITE light saturation; none of those naughty hues to screw up the genuine article)

Fair point, but in 3D you're still going to have some slightly toned down colours or at least a larger collection of shades in order to make it more palatable on the eye. I suggested it exactly because the smoother colours in the fan art still work very well and identifiable for the Keen look.

There's the 2.5D Keen project that Ronnie completed--just in case you haven't seen it yet.

And I see you've made some rule 34 already.

I must say I'm surprised, Keen has pretty much escaped that aside from trivial no-effort attempts.

trouble: Wow 2.5D keen looks amazing! like a real pro game! ID should try and hire Ronnie to remake the whole series!

Viking: oh that's super neat! I'm really feeling the 64bit era vibe!

Davince: Thanks! though I think Lava89's doing an excellent job on his own, some ambient light, and a nice martian skybox and your concerns would be fixed in a flash I think

Levellass: I'm really sorry about that, I shouldn't be arting when I'm so tired

Nice model, AL! Which program did you use to make it?

Also, I forgot to mention earlier: love those sketches. Great work.

Curious, does it blink sideways? (I always think of them blinking vertically, like we do, but is that logical?)

I get the feeling this model has no eyelids. Yorps are like snakes.

I'd never thought of the Vorticons' houses in 3D before. Finding a garg in a passageway like that looks relatively terrifying!
