commander keen on the ipod / iphone

Post by Bubbatom »

Hi, I got an ipod touch recently and was wondering whether commander keen has been ported to it at all. I dont really want to jail break my ipod so i was wonding whether there was someway to run it (if its possible) with out jail breaking it. Also would keen 4-6 be able to run on an ipod?
Thanks :dopefish

I think CG was ported to iPhone. Only for jailbroken, though, and I find it unlikely that the app store would approve of it any time soon. Doesn't support Galaxy.

Not sure how powerful the new iPhones are, but you might be able to get a DOSBox app without jailbreaking it.

I've not got an iPhone, so don't ask me where from!

Well i had a fish around on the web and found something called idos. Idos was an official app released on itunes for a few hours since apple took it off for some reason. The app could play commander keen quite well apparently. I was wondering whether there was any way to download apps from online and not itunes as some places might still have it.

But it seems the iphone version is STILL under construction, 'cause the guy responsible for it has apparently vanished.

Nope. Only apps obtained through the Apple store will run on a non-jailbroken device.

One word: DOSpad. (Needs a jailbroken iDevice, though.)

Those three essentially run the same software. If it runs on one it usually runs on the other two (given by iPod you mean iPod touch 8))

I know iPhone/Pod Touch had a DOS emulator on the App store. But you had to pay for each program/game to run on it. It didn't have Keen last time I checked, but possibly had Wolf3d.
