I love The Ruin of Roib series, but when I play them I pretend it happens in another timeline. I do the same with some other mods, like for exemple "The Fastest Gun In The Universe".
Keen is my childhood hero.
I imagine a Keen adult like he is in Crisis Earth.

I think in canon he becomes doomguy, or at least a descendant of his is doomguy.
I think the new wolfenstein has his own world. Its not the same from wolf 3d. Its a completely new universe. I think Doom 4 will do the same.
Bt the way, I read this in a site:
"William Blazkowicz II (Billy Blaze) age 8 (Billy Blazkowicz shortened) using the alias of one of his grandfather's old WW2 buddies Commander Keen, saves Earth from many threats, even traveling to Mars."
Is this true? Is Commander Keen the alias of a friend of B.J.?

And I groan in agony of this horrible word: Reboot.

Hey not all of those are bad.
Think The Hulk movies. How much of an improvement was the reboot over the original?
And while not everyone will agree, Spiderman also got a good reboot. (Oh c'moooon, you gotta admit The Amazing Spiderman was an improvement over the Spiderman movie trilogy.)

Here's the problem with DC and Marvel characters the way I see it: they've been rebooted and alternatively handled ad infinitum to the point they just feel like this amorphous blur instead of a real thing. Public domain fiction like Dracula, Tarzan, and the Cthulhu mythos almost fall into this, except for those there's a clear original point of reference and the source material is easily accessible to me. That, and adaptations sell themselves as just that - <i>adaptations.<i> This new wolfenstein crap and movie remake garg don't present themselves as adaptations paying respect to the originals; they want to be the real deal and make you scoff or forget about the original work.
Dont give me that garg about my little pony: friendship is vorticola.
The old and original stuff will be always here for us to play or watch. They're not going away. So I don't see what's the problem is. For example, I actually prefer the new Batman trilogy than the old Batman movies.
