id Software's 25th birthday
It's today, apparently! https://twitter.com/idSoftware/status/6 ... 7593009152
I suspect the company won't be celebrating by publishing fond recollections on Keen, though.

they had their time. way back in the 90's they had some leading and groundbreaking ideas. especially their inventional power were staggering. just remember this revolutionary side-scrolling thing, or all the following game engines. also don't forget this publishing idea through the Internet. they used to push the pc-games forward into new and surely golden era. their golden era.
but that is history by now. things changed - but not for the better - ever since the new millennium.
so I'm with wiivn: nobody cares anymore, do they?

I like this Reply:
the best part with Rage was that i found the YouTube channel: "Super Bunnyhop"
However where Rage is Dull, Repetitive and a graphical mess...
Wolfenstein: The new order, was Great!. a Mix of original PC and modern FPS mechanics. just the right way and also funny.
and both used the same graphic Engine.
Rage - made by ID software
Wolfenstien - made by Machine Games
Doom(4) - in work by ID software
If Doom(4) were made by Machine Games - i would be doped on doom(4) hype!!
But it's made by ID software whom last made Rage, and Doom 3 before that.
and the Gameplay-demo just made it look like a bastard child of Mortal Kombat and Halo...
it Tries so bad to be the Fan mod "Brutal Doom" for Doom, that it forgets to be Doom...
i mean they managed to make a chainsaw a dull and boring weapon to wield against Dæmons, Possessed and undead...
Doom 3 isn't that bad, it just isn't as Good of a FPS as Doom II or Quake II
or Quake IV (on Doom 3's Engine), made by Raven software - whom made Heretic and Hexen for ID.
ID pretty much became irrelevant to me, after Rage hit the shelves and i bought and played it...@JoeSiegler wrote:@bethesda @idsoftware @DOOM Celebrate by letting @ThatTomHall have the Commander Keen rights. That would be all kinds of awesome.

The Difference Between a Mod and Fan art?, a Fan art is a Concept and a Mod is that Concept put into life.
