Neural Stunner, one of the most powerful weapons ever?

So, Keen's Neural Stunner...... since I can be a bit of a geek sometimes I've been thinking about Keen's signature gun and comparing its power to other weapons (mostly other guns, like the blasters from Star Wars). Am I the only one that thinks it could be one of the most powerful weapons ever? It is super easy to use, it is small and easy to conceal, fires relatively quickly, can be used on almost anything, and the stunning lasts for quite a while.....

Let's see...

Are we comparing it to other fictional weapons?

If so, its power is comparable to setting a Star Wars blaster or a Star Trek phaser set for stun. Both of those are capable of killing a person when set to sufficient power levels, and the Star Trek phaser can even be overloaded and serve as a very powerful explosive charge.

As far as real-life weapons go, it's definitely a more powerful and useful weapon than any other handheld directed energy weapons we have today. Compared to a standard handgun, however, it's not as powerful, but only more useful in situations when you don't actually want to kill anybody.

Powerful? It can't kill. It's a kids toy. It only stuns you for a while. You can think of it as a self defense zapper, but one that shoots electric energy balls that are powerful enough to stun you for a while. I think it's pretty weak in that regard. It's understandable if it can't kill a robored, but it can't even stun bouncing mushrooms, birds and cocroaches.

As Non-Lethal yes, it's better then a Syringe pistol
but keep in mind reflective surfaces will deflect the projectile.

But it have no effect against an Armored enemy, Note: Robo Red.
and against a energy shield no effect until it's depleted, Note: "Episode 9" Boss fight.

If you want some Powerful handheld weapon Look at the Adepta estate codex (Warhammer 40.000 Space Marines)
and look up Lascannon, Plasma Cannon, Melta Cannon, Power Sword/Axe/Hammer, Power Fist/Claw, Blastmaster*
their Standard Issue Bolt Pistol and Bolt Gun, is pretty much a semi automatic of small rockets
the Pistol alone is to big and heavy for a normal human to weald
the recoil might also dislocate the shoulder and break the arm and hand once fired...

BlastMaster*
a Chaos Space Marine, "Noise Marine" weapon, Pretty much Weaponized Bass & Guitar

As cool as lightsabers look they are still pretty garg weapons. Keen could take a jedi out no problem, given enough sugar in his system and a heavily loaded neural stunner.

Light saber don't only look cool, but is the only thing that can block a light saber, they cut right trough shields and armor
however meter thick steel will take some time to cut trough
and they deflects Laser and Blaster shots with ease including turbo lasers on vehicles
although Laser cannons on larger ships then Fighter classes, and ION cannons shots is better to avoid then trying to deflect

Something like the Neural stunner shot is slow enough to not only deflect, but deflect directly back at the shooter every time.
as if it was a tennis ball.

But Jedi/Siths have more abilities then just their weapons:
Force Pull: Pulls someone, an object, or disarming an enemy by pulling their weapon out of their hands
Force Trow: Trow and object toward and enemy, trow an enemy backward-
- Including trowing their Light saber, trough several enemies before calling it back (without it turning off)
Force Grip: Grip an enemy by the neck and choke them (Sith) - jedi variant puts an enemy to sleep
Force Jump: a high jump to jump over you opponent or jump on top of an AT-ST
Force Speed: increases the users movement speed (although not seen in the original Movies, only Comics and Games)
Force Lightning: A Sith can Shoot lightning out of their fingertips to electrify an enemy in short range (but father away then melee)

But the biggest thing is; why should keen fight a jedi?
they are both on the same side of the moral spectrum.

I agree with Zilem. Although the Neural Stunner is cool, the shots can easily be deflected by a lightsaber and jedi force reflexes. Also.... lightsabers are not garg, they are pretty powerful. In fact, the materials that can make something lightsaber-resistant are rare. Oh, and lets not forget the one thing about Star Wars that pretty much everybody knows..... the Force, and the amazing reflexes and powers it bestows on its users. They could easily outlast a hyperactive kid with a raygun (from a galaxy that's not even close to the one Star Wars is in), and EASILY deflect his shots, seeing as how they can obviously deflect shots from something as simple as an E-11, which is still faster than Keen's weapons (again being from a galaxy that isn't Star Wars or has any of that tech yet). Heck, they don't even have to try and deflect, they could just wrench his weapon out of his hands with the force! Anndd..... like Zilem said, Keen and the Jedi have no reason to fight.

Its effectiveness and ease of use are aided by Keen being a 2D platformer, which effectively makes it target-seeking on one plane. If the game were an fps it probably wouldn't be so forgiving.

Also, is it just me or did the language filter not work on SpeightM09's post? I don't care at all, but it's interesting that quotes of the post turn the s word into "garg," both when posted and in editor mode, while the original post is totally allowed by the board.
