Save CK10YO from 404?
So now that 3DRealms is offline, nobody is hosting "Commander Keen: 10 Years On" anymore...
Except Webarchive, hooray!
http://web.archive.org/web/200711010247 ... index.html
Unfortunately, I can't seem to save the pages, and the images all want to save as "untitled.bmp" which is just useless. Does anyone else want to save CK10YO and maybe host it on one of the reliable Commander Keen websites?

Not to mention that 10 year anniversary interview with tom hall, and the pages describing each apogee game with their box art, among other things. Now someone needs to save the registered versions of their games cuz the shareware versions are the only things on abandonware sites and... well.. their games are in legal limbo

Why don't you just put it on your own page? I mean I don't think you will get as much traffic on it as you did when you first made it.

Oh fucling fucl... Why didn't I ever save those files... I just didn't expect this to happen. I hope this fantastic piece of Keen fan work isn't lost forever now.

It's right here...
It's right here...
Edit: Some of the images are down but I don't have any problem saving the ones that are up. I'll see what I can do.Toomuchsparetime wrote:http://web.archive.org/web/200711010247 ... index.html

Seriously, you should start backing up everything you ever made to several different disks and/or computers to ensure you won't lose it all at some point.Toomuchsparetime wrote:I was also asking youguise because... I don't have a site anymore.
Then again, you were probably a lot younger when you made that site, so whatever. I figured at least someone here had it though...
EDIT: the site is up NOW! GET IT!!!
EDIT: Salvaged it, though I just did a "save whole page" in Firefox on all pages, so links to the next page are wrong and stuff. The really quick way to save it before it's possibly down again. Here you go: http://davince.tengudev.com/files/mirror/keenstory.zip
(Heh, the file is 4,314,625 bytes.)
Wow look at me I'm lurking

The stripped down, non-3D Realms version. Made to look at.

The stripped down non-3D Realms version for your hard drive. Eh?
I didn't care about fixing all the links on the last page... because in doing so would require me to download the pages and whatnot. Besides I doubt we will be needing to flame TMST anytime soon.
But seriously... webhosting is very cheap. I get something ridiculous like 150+ gigabytes of transfer a month and use on average like 100 megs... at most.
