Keen 1 Font

Post by DHeadshot »

I got this idea from a suggestion on the Commander Genius forum and have been working on it ever since (in secret, so it can be a surprise). I have converted the Keen 1 English font (1FON0000) pixel-for-pixel to a True-type font. Hopefully this will be of some use to people making images for fan-games, CG extensions and maybe even mods. When working in MSPaint, I can confirm it works perfectly at size 6 (if exact replication is what you're going for), though on some systems the ideal size may vary. All special characters are included, however, because control characters aren't accessible to fonts, they are included at an offset of 0x0100h. You can download the font from Here. I have named the font Keen1FON0000 to identify where it came from.

This is awesome! You're the bomb, homie!

Also, I'm much the same way. I love to surprise people, and to be surprised! :-)

Could you send me those other fonts? They sound righteous. I think that I have the SGA one, but just in case.
Okeyday.

I'm now torn between continuing with Adore64 as my terminal font or switching to this one.

Pretty sure Adore64 still wins. Just.

I became intrigued as to how the font compares with similar system fonts - seems it's quite close. Do you think Id had an original system in mind when they created it?

There's only so many ways you can cram a font into 8x8 squares.

Just give me the Sprite sheet for the font and I will (after my coursework). I did Keen 3 SGA a while back if you're interested and have forgotten the topic...

I think Acorn and Commodore fonts are meant to look similar, but the keen font has some significant differences: the zero, the @ the Jay, the M, S and W, all small letters, if you compare the three the Keen font is always less similar than the other two.
