Super Armageddon 2 Turbo - Keenday Release

Post by tulip »

It's past 4 in the morning here, but nevertheless I present to you:

The finally finished version of the long abandoned mod Armageddon 2, coming with complete V2 slopes and lemm patchage, music and everything you'd want in a vorticons mod. Enjoy: http://www.shikadi.net/wiki/files/Mods/ ... -03-14.zip

This is the first Vorticons mod I have ever played that featured music. Are there others?

There are three others that I know: Shmaynoria, Bananasauros, and How Bleen Saved Kwanzaa.

Oh wow... I am so playing through this today.
I'm loving the Frost-Yorps. :)

Great job, tulip... And Happy Keen Day everyone!

EDIT: This is some of the best level design I've seen in ages.
It's mods like these that keep the community fun and worthwhile. :)

When I died it semt as getting touched by that Pluto yorp brought me back to life.

After all I died, flew torwards the ceiling of the map and that yorp turned into an ice block in level 1. Unfortunately the ice block crashed into a trap just a few seconds later so I didn´t know what would have happened if I would have stayed in that state for longer.

Did this happen to anybody else as well?

yeah I feared that bug isn't entirely removed. That's why I mentioned it in the readme text.

Very nice. Now I don't have to release anything. When I have more time I'll give this a proper look-over.

So is there a Super Armageddon 1? I can't find any prequel on the keen wiki.

VBB, I'm pretty sure that like 99% of the title here refers to Capcom's ridiculous number of Street Fighter re-releases, where you ended up with titles like Super Street Fighter II Turbo Champion Edition.

Najawa was basically creating his own version of TUIT, somewhat continuing where Keen 5 left off. A fiery breed of Shikadi were setting up a new Armageddon Machine. This is where the name "Armageddon II" comes from. It was supposed to be a trilogy, part 1 being "Pluto Burns".
Keen visits Pluto. Since it is the planet farthest away from the sun, it is an ice planet without oxygen. When Keen lands there he finds the planet is on fire. The Shikadi plan to turn this planet into a sun and then destroy it causing a chain reaction that will destroy the entire universe.

Other then level redesign for 7-8 levels, recolored tiles and graphics, Najawa had done very little with this mod. Bascially, it just looked like a recolored Keen 1 levelpack rather then a mod. I am not sure how long he worked on it before he abandoned it.
