The Omegamatic: a new(ish) level editor

As everyone who frequents K:M or the IRC channel knows, I've had a Keen:Galaxy Level editor in the works for quite a while now (it's also been mentioned in passing in a few threads over here). It's finally stable/nice enough to be out of beta, so here it is, the official public unveiling.

The included help file should contain enough info to get you started, even if you've never used any of the other level editors - if you haven't leveled at all, I hope this encourages you to experiment with leveling.

Try it out and please tell me what you think or if you encounter any problems (you probably will). If you find something you don't like or have a feature request, be sure to let me know.

Happy Keen Day :birthday I hope this means more Galaxy mods/levelpacks!

Looks like I'm switching editors for my mini-mod!

I had fun testing out the early versions of this, too!

its... its beautiful

I have been able to make several NetKeen levels with this editor so far, with only some RECTANGLE FURY and mild corruption evil, which have been resolved.

TOM is a pretty cool guy, and the only Galaxy editor I can stand.

I get the same error I get with Mindbelt. Crashes my PC. :(

TOM is without a doubt the best Keen Galaxy editor. I've used it with Keen Dreams Plus and with Netkeen levels and plan to use it on future Keen Galaxy projects. Awesome work, Mink.

When I start the .exe, I get an error messages and my computer shuts down, closing every window that's open.
Not funny.

^ Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Are you running Windows 7 64bit?

Hey man, this is not a trololo.
I assume it's because TOM is heavily based on the Mindbelt source code.

Strange, I have Windows 7 64-bit too and it works without any problems. Are you sure you don't have any software interfering with it in some way?

Hmmm, only firefox was running at the same time.

Wow! This editor is so cool it rocks! It even does have a neat *cough* K1ng_Duk3 *cough* zoom feature! :p

Not everything is self-explanatory. Bear in mind that I've almost never used TED5 or Keen: Next level editors. So, how to use undo/redo? Save all levels - it just saves? No option yes/no save as... or single level? When you start a new level, it's not self-explanatory for the beginners how big levels can be etc.

Now what the heck is going on the K:N mode tileset preview? And why the other layers disappear and why I can't return them?
And why in the editor the version is 0.8 while in the readme it says it's 1.0?
In the readme you said you can import levels from other gamemaps files, but you didn't point which ones. For example it doesn't work with Keen 8 gamemap file or with Keen 5 cga.
Why when you run the program and select cancel, the program crashes?

There are some other things that can be improved. For example, hold right click to collect 2 or more tiles and a better indicator what are you placing where.
