Yet another Keen 3 levelpack (UPDATE: It only took seven years)

NECRO-EDIT: Alas, I missed Keen day by quite a while this time. Anyway, if y'all remember I used to have a levelpack that was a broken mess of an untested world map and unbeatable levels - it's something I've been intending to come back to for a while now, but have been putting off for some reason or another.

Finally - finally - I can get this out of my queue and maybe release a proper version?

There's a few new features like proper patching and music, plus small changes to levels (one of them was swapped for an older submission of mine), but other than that it's not too different from the original levelpack. Just... hopefully playable this time around.

That filehosting is a tangle of malicious string. And in its own madness, they confused download with upload.

Ugh, this is what happens when I find something by random. :stoned

That worked better. Everything runs goodly, Keen3.exe is not included (not a problem for me, I always have one handy), and my first impression was "Hey look! Chips Challenge!"

I stuck the .zip file in me old Dropbox, so... that works, I guess. Get it here!

Play it now! Right now! Unless you have to go to bed. Or you're working. Or something. But play it now!

EDIT: Good show, Flyingmouse. This really grabs my attention right off the bat. Thanks to everyone who made the effort to fill Keen Day 2013 with many goodies!

The lesson here is a simple one: Dropbox >> all.

Hurray for dos... dropbox!

I like these kind of puzzles! So minimalistic, yet cleverly designed. If it wasn't the screenshot, I wouldn't be downloading this right now. So thanx for the screenshot also.

So many ideas to steal, so little time.

Offtopic: You burglar! If it wasn't you, I was to post many interesting things, but you would stole them all! And interestingly enough, at the same time you have a strong opinion against illegal software. Hah! :)

Ontopic: the level pack is awesome! It's more like a mod actually. There's a lot of levels variety which is cool. My favorite levels would be the puzzle ones. Most of the levels are cool and enjoyable, especially those that aren't too big. The mountain level is also cool, but unnecessary long and a heck of a labyrinth. And my other complain is for the white levels. They are out of place, frustrating and are not interesting.

Overall, this is a very good and quality level pack that's enjoyable and it's worth playing it. 8/10.

*steal them all. I'm also a grammar nazi.

Though I would note that the concept of 'stealing' ideas in this context may be better rendered as 'ripping off' or 'poorly copying' since the ideas in question are not copyrighted, nor does it seem that the owner would much care if they were copied; such duplication of ideas would reflect poorly on the copier if done inelegantly since it would show a severe lack of creativity.

I'm gonna be honest, I actually based (read: copied) the labyrinth/cave level off the original level 15. :o I'd intended to make it actually beatable, then branched off it a little bit.
And I was trying something new with the white levels; they failed rather badly.

Well they can't be worse than my levels I don't think. But that level 1 door puzzle was a strike of genius.

A nice set of levels. Some of the levels required a bit too much intelligence and/or patience, but nothing a little cheating won't fix. :D It always amazes me to see what people come up with the same tileset and elements, and once again I was not disappointed. Many clever ideas and devious things I have never considered. Liked the 'speedrun' parts the best. The moment with the Mangling Machine leg crushing through the floor and DIE written there and you're dead if you don't move fast enough -- just great. The first level was a great example of a one screen level, haven't seen those in a while.

This is probably one of the longer necroposts I've done in a while, sorry, but I finally got around to fixing this levelpack into something resembling functional. Check the OP for details; hopefully Drive's file hosting is good enough this time around.
