Having a pirate copy of Keen 3 in a pirate mod, tsk tsk.
Maybe it's just a lack of sleep, but I found the juxtaposition of the music and garbage in this bugged load to be moderately hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-B0gfbU_XA

It seems that the computers of me and my beta testers are too old school, they lack modern games and programs that mess with DosBox's running environment. As a result I have managed to make a mod that is the equivalent of an egg balanced on its pointy end. Less stable computers easily disrupt it.Fleexy wrote:You've just gotta love unmanaged memory!
This means that there is no point in me releasing any more mods; I simply cannot mess them up well enough to see the inevitable bugs. So it goes.

I'm enjoying what I've played so far. I believe mods with several small, leisurely levels bring out the fun factor of Keen much more than ones with a few huge, sprawling ones. Each one seems to have it's own little gimmick, too. There's one centered around using the birds, a bridge level, a small fortress filled with dynamite, one where you take a boat ride, things like that which give each level their own unique identity without feeling like forced gimmicks.
It makes me want to burn some of my old mods in a fire and have someone else make my levels.
That said, I might get jinxed in the butt later on seeing as Keenrush is the big bad. His rank is lower than dirt!
edit: How do I loot this booty, mateys?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of point-lives. You can pick up extra Keens but given that the max possible score is over 5 million... nah.
Aaah, you CAN get them via two careful jumps, but they're more trolling than anything since you need immense skill and they're not that much points. (It took me 28 tries to get them both; the second most tries on a level. (The worst level killed me 119 times. I marked it with a skull square in the actual level as a warning to those who come after me.)edit: How do I loot this booty, mateys?
