I think I'll wait for the Ultimate Complete Edition 4.

Also, story text could use some tweaking. Vortex power became big anyone?

Double post.

Ok few issues here indeed. Firstly, the flat stuff, boxes and nuclear canisters. Those *need* to be 2.5D'd

Secondly your tileset has a LOT of free space and could use some misc decoration, even things as simple as puddles of water and cracks. The background lasers need somewhere they're fired from and maybe scorch marks where they hit the ground.

Enemies need to animate more (Some don't at all.) Again you have the graphics space for this. It doesn't need to be fancy.

Boss fight needs jumping and shooting in it. It'd be nice if it were more like the battle with Mort in Keen 9.

You need a 'flat top with pole' tile for these things, it's odd seeing Keen fall through where the pole is.

There needs to be an arrow or something here so the player knows to wait instead of mistaking it for a dead end:

All in all this is a nice start, but it is a start.

With Levellass we are automatically working on the next version of Keen 10.
(my first release was kinda like a "demo", which I think that's a half demo that's almost the full version or something)

The next version will have significant changes:

- more levels
- text changes
- graphic changes
- the boss level will be "enjoyable"
- Keen's friends will have sprites
- point item changes
- MORE enemies
- changed enemies

So I didn't abandoned this project at all. :)

Sounds great!

I'm sure it'll be a good mod eventually. Especially change the layer of those "background" lasers :)

Update:

Well, things are going much better than I thought! Almost all the levels are done + Levellass is working on some as well.
The boss level will be enjoyable as well. ;)

Just like in Keen 9, in Keen 10 Keen's friends will give various hints.

Your modding skills are definitely evolving nicely especially from Keen Xmas 2010 to this latest project. Contrary to what others have said, I believe your graphics are your biggest strength, but I find your creativity in patching and designing enemies to be your biggest weakness. Intelligent Intellect was a good example of this. Vast majority of enemies were harmless and the few that were fatal had the most simplistic of movements. This new project definitely shows improvement over your last Galaxy mod and the fact you are still expanding on the enemies shows more evolution. Level design from the last project to this one shows significant improvement as well. I have not really been a big fan of your most of your Vorticon mods, but your Galaxy work is definitely coming along and is looking great. I am definitely looking to see the full expansion of this mod.

We are almost done with the mod.

But we have to find bugs in the game as I found some Levellass will fix. Moreover I happily announce Keen 10 will have Help section.

Have you SEEN any of my mods? I'll be glad if this doesn't crash anyone's computer.

I just had to fix a bug that made the game 'crash' (Only not really) that results because not everyone's dosbox setups refresh the screen in the same way. What hope is there?
