Marooned on Mars - Galaxy Mod
I just finished the Beta Version of my new mod: "Marooned on Mars".
It's a redesign of the first Keen game in Keen5.
I'm not a good composer. The music in this mod is a collection of other Apogee games.
The Vorticons in the story page and on the title screen are inspired by the Comics of Mort. (I'm a big fan of his drawn stories and art)
There are a few bugs/ incomplete patches I couldn't fix:
- Sometimes the teleporters will crash the game (I don't know why).
- The entry text of the last level doesn't work.
- The game doesn't end when you collect all 4 ship parts. You have to cheat to see the ending-sequence.

I've just started playing (got through Treasury and the first two shrines). I am very impressed with what I've seen so far. These levels do a great job of aesthetically re-envisioning Keen 1 while still staying true to the feel and simplicity. Because it so closely follows the original's design, this also feels like it would be a great entry point for new players that have never seen Keen before. It is very easy to pick up and play, and the level design does a great job of introducing mechanics. I think that's a reflection of really good game design. This feels like it could be an official version of Keen 1.
I'm looking forward to playing more. Really curious to see what you do with later levels like the ice places and the Vorticon Commander Castle.

This is such a fantastic production! I love your re-interpretation of the levels, the art, wow... Totally different from what I'd imagine. These graphics are so good. When I saw the large collections of plants in Emerald City I was like "stop it!!" and then when I got into the blue underground tunnels of Red Maze City I was like "fuuuuuuuuu this is too much!". So gorgeous.
The teleport bug just happened to me: The game stops, teleport animation stops, the screen freezes but the music continues.Levellass wrote:When the game crashes, what error are you given?

- Red robots that can variable climb walls (and cans) with no path.
There is another bug. Once you use the teleporter a tile error occures.

I would be happy if you could make some music. I wanted to make some of my own but I suck in composing songs. Usually there is space for 14 songs.
