Keen 8: Dead in the Desert

Here is where to post about the latest Commander Keen fangame or modification you've finished, a new website you've made, or another Keen-related creation.

Hmm that could be interesting... Have a few gates or some replacement to the vertical electric bolt, to be toggled off by a gem or a switch, so the Imposter Keen can fall down to some where only afterwards.

I do realize that Nospike may be a bit buggy sometimes, or something like that; Though.

yeah maybe theres a way to make the Dude invincible to everything except falling? that way the aim of the last level would be to open a load of gates and then lure him over the edge of a cliff behind them?

It would probably be necessary to remove the slopes. I once got him stuck in the air after shooting him - I would have saved some ammo if there wasn't a patch to prevent him from dying after falling on the ground again. :P

I realize I am somewhat late to the party with this, but I wanted to say that I love this game. And Krodacia. These are some really spectacular mods and they fit in perfectly with the rest of the Keen-verse.

Specifically, I just finished playing the Red Rock Mountain level, and I loved the way that level works. Amazing, amazing job.

Yes, I created an account just to make this post. Why do you ask?

So I've looked at some level for no true reason... and spotted this tiny tile bug:

That's it for now, I guess. Still waiting for BOTB!
Of course, no need to hurry just cause of that. I know that ppl who work on stuff like MODs in their free time don't owe anything to anybody. As long as no contract is signed...

It's crazy little things like that which make me test my levels so much.

And then... they turn out to be totally impossible for some reason. *Sigh*

...did anyone notice the hydro factory autocomplete?

what you do is you get the green gem, go to the first shooter, and then jump into it just as it shoots. you'll fall right into the battery...

so you go :stunned but you automatically complete a >5 min level in 50 seconds.

Yeah, it can be done. But I'd rather not to, it's much more satisfying to explore and finish a long level :p

It's well known, I think, and has been documented here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdZvmiuYXFw

I'll probably fix this in the next release.

That would be wise. Some Keeners might abuse this bug. While we are on the subject of those shooters, you only need the green and red gems on easy. Because Keen can jump higher on easy, you can stand on the bottom shooter and impossible pogo up to the ledge and climb up and go to where the red gem is. By doing this you can avoid the blue and yellow gem doors.
