This is the same reason people tend to pick 3 and 7 when asked for a number between 0-10. (1,2 and 9, 10 are too 'extreme'; 4, 5 and 6 are too middle. 3 and 7, nobody would think to pick those!) In fact most people's favorite numbers are 3 and 7. We seek randomness and by that path avoid it.
