Granted. A new, easily maintained type of grass is bred. Due to its widespread adoption, the chances of the strain's genetic makeup mutating somewhere in the world is increased. The most major change, which gives the plant sentience, takes place at a growing facility which supplies seed to most stores and major turf distributors. Unknown to humans, the new smart grass spreads across the globe and soon learns that it was created weak to serve our laziness. Radical grass political leaders call for an uprising, and the strain grows as long as possible in areas which cause most disruption to humans. Several deadly fires are attributed to grass growing up power lines.
