What's the story behind that? Was that meant to be an ending, or on the title page?VikingBoyBilly wrote:This is the animation John Romero denied existence of:

The Legendary John Romero on #PCKF!
Member since at least 1998 with... ah... some long absences. I was even a moderator at one point. I'll probably keep coming back here and there as long as this place still exists.

as far as i can remember, Romero DOES recognise that it exists... it was supposed to be the title.Snortimer wrote:What's the story behind that? Was that meant to be an ending, or on the title page?VikingBoyBilly wrote:This is the animation John Romero denied existence of:

It came from a topic a while back where someone found all of this in the beta...

I thought they've been around since Romero posted them in his blog ages ago as graphics that were left over from Dreams.
Edit: They = this picture and some alternative versions of enemies.

How can they be terrible thenParamultart wrote:Personally, I think the 2nd and 3rd frames of the animation look absolutely terrible. What's up with Keen's hands and why is he wall-eyed?
It almost seems like that image was a direct inspiration for the Shmaynoria title screen.
Seriously, when can we expect a sequel to Shmaynoria?

How many times do I need to complete it before that counts? The only level I haven't beaten is the Secret level, because the only time I got in I died and couldn't get back in again...Paramultart wrote:As soon as someone actually plays the first one.DHeadshot wrote: Seriously, when can we expect a sequel to Shmaynoria?

You mean nobody beat that game already? You've got to be kidding me!
See Dangerou Dave 3&4, same engine, even lower quality.Personally, I think the 2nd and 3rd frames of the animation look absolutely terrible. What's up with Keen's hands and why is he wall-eyed?

What you really need, not what you think you ought to want.
In all honesty Paramultart, show Shmaynoria to John Romero.

@DHeadShot:
Just because I stalked the man and convinced him to join a chat-room, that doesn't mean that I'm his friend or that he gives a crap about my mods.
There was no personal conversation had between us, only what you see on the first page of this thread.
Honestly, there are far greater Keen mods than mine, and I doubt even they would be worthy of his attention and time.
If I were to bother him with anything, I would pitch one of my original game ideas, and even then I doubt he would care.
