New snapshot!

- Changed player collision
- Revamped suffocation mechanic
- Narrowed affected area of poison deluges
- Antigrav time counts twice as much toward score
- Tiny blocks have a chance of falling fast
- Made comments less inane
- Added HUD at bottom of screen
- Uses "crushers.dat" for persistent information
- Added internal stuff that you shouldn't be able to notice

10003 with anti gravity.

Btw something funny happened. Right after the beginning, 2 bottom lines and one laser line destroyed all the blocks and there was no place to land.

Hory shet those fast falling blocks are the definition of nasty.

Edit: After playing a while I've reached the conclusion that you simply have to fix the suffocation mechanic. I began suffocating in a hole like this:

Apparently it has something to do with whether you're near 1x1 blocks or bigger blocks. When I jump into a hole between two 1x1 blocks I sometimes start suffocating but not when the blocks are bigger.

Fixed, but the next snapshot will feature an again different type of suffocation mechanic.

Got to over 12,000. Can't remember the exact score.

Bug: Being right next to the wall when a lower layer is destroyed by laser (not sure if by bottom destruct) gets you crushed.

This bug is caused by the player taking a longer time to fall than the block. The block then hits the player and crushes him. This can be caused both by bottom destructs and by lasers.

Yes, I know that, but I'm saying blocks that are off-screen are crushing you if you're right on the edge. Blocks you can't see!

Oh... looks like I forgot to add a check for in-room x-coordinate. If that's right, it should only occur on the rightmost edge of the room. Fix will be in next snapshot.

I'm 100% sure it's not my volume. The sound of blocks hitting the ground and that of being crushed, at the very least, are coming solely out of the right-channel (or have a very heavy right-bias, I don't have a desire to wreck my eardrums to make sure).

Headphones people, headphones. I just listened through mine and there IS a heavy right bias. (Perhaps a subtle reflection of Fleexy's political views.)

There is some sound coming from the left, but it's not strong at all.

IIRC, sounds in Game Maker have independent balance controls - maybe check those out?

That's strange, I always use headphones and while the sounds do have a right bias, it seems nowhere as strong as you guys are saying... Maybe I'm just lucky :p

Fleexy, could you please fix the suffocation mechanic for the next release if you have some time? Currently falling will make you suffocate and if you drop into a 1x1 spot between 2 walls (any height) you continue suffocating until you die. Otherwise this game is cool. :)
