So there's a company called Cyberdyne: http://www.cyberdyne.jp/english/index.html A Japanese company that bills itself as leading in cybernetics.
Ok, they swear they're not related to Cyberdyne systems from the Terminator franchise. I'll buy that (for a dollar!); it's total coincidence, there's 'cyber' in everything these days, plus, they're Japanese.
They're working in robotics, notable exoskeletons that allow you to do nifty things like toss cars about like they were bales of hay. Ok, stretching credibility a bit there.
Their leading edge deign is called HAL: http://www.cyberdyne.jp/english/robotsuithal/ , they're currently at version 9; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_9000
That seals the deal, in a decade or less we're facing judgement day.
The terminators are coming...
The terminators are coming...
What you really need, not what you think you ought to want.
But then again, they use the word cyber for a lot of things. For example their equivalent of Google maps is called cybermaps. While on a favorite subject of mine (Japan that is), when I explored Tokyo yesterday with Google street view, I found out that as much as advanced they are, some people there also don't use hands-free muhahahha:

I also find out that every single town or prefecture got a website and every single website got some kind of manga girl (whether it's an ad or not). How could you not love Japaneses?
