Well... I did. Just for the heck of it.

(I also randomly hit the record button while playing keyboard this morning and since the video had no sound, I inserted my keyboard nonsense in there.)
Haha! That was awesome. When you went into a starjump without the gun I couldn't watch as I thought for sure you'd be dead meat. But you thankfully you turned on the shields.

The music also really fit the lighthearted nature of the video.

By the way, which software did you use to make the video?

Thanks for posting this! (and playing the game!)

I turned on the shields!?
To see me actually play the song, there's a video for that too:

The program I used to capture footage of your game is called HyperCam 2. I wanted to use the original music and sound, but alas, I didn't have my microphone at the time. I was going to narrate, but I'm awful at that. A video without any sound at all is hard to watch. So I had no other recourse but to use my own audio recording.

Towards the end you turned them on, when the ship was at 25%! haha (at about 3:50)

I liked the video for the music! Listened to the whole thing! Its got that perky, upbeat sound to it.

I'll have to check out HyperCam, now! Thank you. Especially since its free (legally), haha.

Aaah HyperCam. How often I've seen your little unregistered notice at the top of a video.

I usually use CamStudio

Great play-through troublesomekeen,
I was laughing when you didn't grab the laser to shoot the asteroids

Are you guys getting major lag throughout the game?

If so, I am going to post a small patch for the game, just to see if this resolves the issue.

I was already running it on a slower computer...

But speed optimizing is a good thing anyway ;)

Make a Linux port and I'll consider voting ;)

Haha, yeah, I'm glad its allowing non-members to vote....or my facebook endeavors were a waste! LOL.

Perfectly understandable! I don't vote on something unless I've tried it myself. Which is why I ask "If you feel its worth your vote", because so many people beg the internet to like their stuff, regardless if its any good or not.

As for a linux port, I'd love to! Definitely something I'll look into if I moved away from Blitz3D, which unfortunately has only been designed for windows. :dopekeen

When I get a moment I'll check if it runs through WINE.

Version 1.2.1 is OUT!

Post by Lava89 »

Ok, I made a new update, Version 1.2.1!

NEW Trailer:

Major changes:
(*) Three new features added to the gun: RUDDER, JUMP and STAT
All of which are designed to make the game play more fluidly. For instance, the rudder mode allows the player to control the ship while standing on the exterior of the ship. The other two functions give the player info while they are outside of the ship. The new trailer, posted above, shows these functions off so you can see them in action!

(*)Laser on the gun has been improved:
That annoying glitch where the laser would move with you after shooting it is GONE.

Now...I admit that this isn't much. My intended plan was to release smaller updates in shorter spans of time. However, since I haven't had time to work on anything until this summer, I was basically sitting on this update and thought I might as well get it out and move on to the next version.

I also wanted to make more updates to optimize the game's performance, and wasn't able to find a solution-- primarily because I don't own a computer that was having the same issues that people were reporting. In the future I might consolidate some of the textures, since I did use multiple textures for one model, which I'm sure eats up memory on the game, but that would be a pretty extensive update.

At best, I can smooth out the gun's aiming motion in the next update and I did flix the glitch on the gun's laser for this latest version. So hopefully it will be slighly less irritating. And save games will definitely be in the next update.

Thanks RoboBlue! Old school space sim games are definitely an inspiration.
