In this thread, we don't talk about sports.

So how's everyone doing tonight?

I went to bed when the sun was rising because putting of writing and then actually writing kept me up. Then I overslept.

Anyone here been playing Ingress?

Only if he has his helmet off. Same goes for the Emotikeens - there are some out there sans helmet, including Punk and Viking Keen: :punk :vikeen.

So I was playing chess the other day when things got really interesting. You see, my opponent started with a Sicilian defense to which I replied with-

Owait, no sports. My bad.

So strange that you should mention Sicily and chess...

Being a foster parent I've noticed the reason a high percent of kids in foster care are on meds. Because those kids usually have parents with mental illness, passed that trait on to their kids. That combination can be too stressful for some parents, leading to neglect or abuse. Sad to see kids have a poor chance staying with birth parents from the get go.

Mental illness is a sad and heart breaking thing.

Plenty of parents with mental illness are perfectly good at parenting, too. Don't forget that.

Yup I understand that. The movie "I am Sam", details that same point. But they are at a disadvantage of varying degrees. Some of it's the old babies having babies deal. Age doesn't imply maturity, but it is expected.

Cool. I was going to add it to the list of chess-related deaths, but someone beat me to it. It seems to be the first chess murder this century.
