New forum designs
Why in all world would you guys go to that 2000something XP pseudo 3D object style now when flat is king?
apart from us probably not succeeding in contacting our only real admin adurdin for this, I think the current design is much more keenish and modern feeling than the suggestion.

Nice April Fools, candyjack.
My opinions about the design (as a web designer and a fan of general usability):
I like the thinner border lines on the design, and the general colors used. Actually, speaking of borders, now that CSS3 has introduced image borders we can do more fun stuff with that - like actual Keen-inspired image borders.
I think straight corners work better for Keen rather than the rounded ones displayed. The shadows on the orange text looks ugly, but we could have a very subtle shadow surrounding the entire subforum block.
I also think we could use a bit more padding to the forum list. Also, remove the underlines from the moderator names - it makes them stand out more than anything else, as if they're the most important information.
Oh, and the website displays pretty terribly on mobile devices - not optimized at all. There is a lot that can be done there.
I'm kinda compelled to start messing with the theme myself now. I probably will once I find the time, and chip in my contributions in a new thread or something.

Honestly, this feels anything, but modern. This one still could be the default one, but I would like to have more choice since this one looks outdated to me. And it's not really flat. If you see, there is some depth. I could even made a new flat design, if you wish. But if only adurdin is the one who could make an option to add more skins, then all this topic is an April fools joke.
DaVince thanks for the suggestions. I could totally do the 2.5D perspective design borders. I imagine it with the Keen 6 bluish borders. However, this forum is too old. It would be an achievement even if we add some basic additional skins to choose from.
As for the design I showed, I have some more ideas to change it.
candyjack that would be easy to be made.

Just used the wrong term. It's not so much about using HTML5 as it is about editing the CSS files and using CSS3 to create a theme/style, really. HTML5 is just content. CSS is where you style your stuff.Keening_Product wrote:Tormentor667 wrote:HTML5Yeah, HTML5 isn't an option. The forum footer wrote:Powered by phpBB © 2001, 2005 phpBB Group

this is my design for the site:

tbh I almost like the current logo in its pixelated goodness (no offense for the artist of the others)

For windows users... uhhhh....
I seem to recall seeing those pictures on the logo somewhere else... is that original boxart or something?
