Audio Cassettes? Those ancient bricks of plastic that contain compiled music tracks and the like?

Ah I remember those. Haven't seen one in well over a decade here in the US. Those and video cassettes. And game cartridges too. Brings back memories...

I had a walkman at one point... but I never got to play cassettes on it. D:

Much like diskettes though, they disappeared in favor of these discs of plastic known as CDs and DVDs. As did video tapes and game cartridges. What happened to all those good things?

(You know I just now noticed most of the computers I work on don't have disk drives. Just DVD-ROM and USB stuff. :O )

I'm actually willing to get a walkman and see if I can find any cassettes to listen to. Would be quite nice.

As for countries that still use them like that, I have no idea.
