@Fleexy: Out of curiosity, does the phpBB code provides a RSS web-feed option? the page source does indicates that there might be a way, but it's disable for now:

Code: Select all

<!--
<a class="feed-icon-forum" title="Feed - Unofficial Keen Games" href="/app.php/feed?f=2">
<i class="icon fa-rss-square fa-fw icon-orange" aria-hidden="true"></i><span class="sr-only">Feed - Unofficial Keen Games</span>
</a>
-->

I'm using https://pckf.com/app.php/feed as a whole-forum feed, is that what you mean?

Feature request: a thumbs up button, so I can give Nisaba and Malvineous thumbs ups for bringing up and answering questions on RSS.

I started using Liferea when Google Reader closed down. It's single-device only but it turns out that's all I really need so I have never moved on to anything else.

FYI if you use Firefox you can right-click on a page and choose 'View Page Info' then click on the 'Feeds' tab to see if a given page/site offers RSS feeds. Not sure if this is available in other browsers.

thanks for the info. I'm using AntennaPod for my mobile device since it's opensource. it's more a podcast tool so to speak. but it get's the job done simple and clean. yip, knew about the Firefox feature, but forgot about it somehow. thanks for reminding me.

I'm listening to something using AntennaPod right now. It's an excellent app.

isn't it?! do you use other open source apps as well? if so, can you give some recomendations?
Kiwix (offline wiki reader) would be another open-source app I'm using quite frequently.

On my mobile? Firefox Nightly :p

Open Camera is a good photography app with useful features.

yeah, that's right. to extend the list even further: DiskUsage, KeePassDroid, iFixit, VLC, APK Extractor, OsmAnd+, Syncthing and of course F-Droid come to mind.

I just realised all this discussion of open source apps is wildly off topic. Sorry Fleex.

Maybe an open source programs thread is in order.

I know I was part of the off-topicing here, but I'll say this: future replies on this thread should be on topic.

Naah. A bunch of guys stuck tight together doesn't appeal to me. Here's a simple PCKF logo that might replace the current phpBB one:

Perhaps we could go with a different approach for the graphical logo than smashing a bunch of sprites together?

@Roobar: I don't really like your logo. It looks rather plain to me. But I'm very happy that you've posted your idea. A larger variety of images to choose from is a good base to start a community vote.

@keenmaster468: what's your proposal then? Share your idea, get creative, post it here. I think we do all agree that we need to replace the standard php-logo, don't we?!
