Update!

She is alive:

"There has been a prolonged family emergency. It is mostly over now."

Hopefully it's not too bad... I sure hope her family is fine. But it's good to hear that she herself seems to be alright.

Ach, best wishes to the 'lass family, and I'm glad she's alright.

She also told me she has internet connection problem.

So then, I must wait for years for a patch ... ? :confused

Well, I maybe haven't done a lot of Keen modding in the last few years, but either way:

We might not know for sure. However, what's clear is that it probably feels like Levellass was behind almost every DOS Keen mod which required some patching in a way, at least since she joined the PCKF. Even if she wasn't directly involved in a mod's development, maybe someone used a patch she posted in K:M, the patching tutorial, the KeenWiki's patches database or anywhere else.

I do know of a few other individuals who got into patching, but either they aren't as interested, or they're mostly doing this for their own works.

Here's one thing I've learnt (and I think that this occurred more than once for me): When you really want to do something and nobody else is there for this, eventually you settle to doing this on your own; Or at least, trying to, given obvious difficulties.

Hopefully the patching tutorial, combined with the database of patches in the KeenWiki, may greatly assist at least one individual.

If we talk about easy patches like for example the Slug takes 50 times to kill it, it's okay, but complex/complicated patches cannot be done easily by a novice.

If you get what I mean...

Well, the patching tutorial was made for noobs. Meaning it's beginners friendly. You really can learn things step by step. Just take your time and you'll get to understand the basic patching mechanics. After some time you'll be able to create your own complex stuff. It's just a matter of patience and dicipline.

Lemme quote NY:

Not as if you were cleverer than anybody else.

Your attitude is getting annoying. Unless you are actually paying her for her work, she doesn't owe you anything and you seriously need to shut up.

Ditto. Cmon szemi, levellass has been a pillar of this community for a long time. She's contributed so much. Let's leave her be until she decides to come back. I'm sure she has a lot going on and Keen stuff simply can't be a priority for anyone when that is the case.
