Forum Rules?

I know the forum rules are listed in CC314, but seeing as how that site is like dead, perhaps we should put them here, and perhaps take the liberty to rewrite them. btw i noticed in that page at CC314 the link actually goes here, so that was neat.

yeah, so, thoguts?

I didn't even notice they were missing. One thing to e-mail about... Rewriting might be a good idea as well. But well, until they're here again I guess everyone can act properly, I don't think I need to say "no pornography or trolling!"

If you ask me the common good sense and good behaviour are just enough, the old rules were about those, weren't they? But I guess they should be there so some idiot can't say that it wasn't forbidden to do something he did because it reads nowhere in any rules...

But of course things can be just that without it needing to be written anywhere... And of course then everyone'd say that admins do whatever they want to, in case there weren't rules. Of course I'd do just that if this were completely my own forum...

The rules are where they've always been, and the page is up to date, even if the site isn't. It's all just common sense, I don't see the necessity of rewriting them.

The only old rule I had trouble with was the "No swearing" one. But seeing as how most people don't mind... (And I'm also not like... swearing in every post... God damnit!)

It's like... the rule that was never enforced.

It's quite difficult to enforce every rule especially when most of the users aren't like 10 years old. (Although they if anybody use foul language, at least in this country.) And if somebody says we should be stricter, I'll say the old forum worked just fine with no complaints, and I haven't changed since that time (a week).

About the swearing thing, I kinda have it in me to swear at times, but never specifically aiming towards someone. You know, words like damn. How about changing the rule to "no swearing if it targets someone specifically"?

Yeah, unless the swearing is really out of hand, we're not going to moderate it. Like KR said, most of us aren't kids anymore.

You've got to remember that those rules (and the whole cc314 redesign really) was made while Cho'gall, eK, and I were still in our mid-teens, and the average age of the forums users was 12 or 13.
