314 remains omnipresent...

Post by XkyRauh »

I went to take my CBEST (a prerequisite test for obtaining my teaching credential in the state of California) last weekend, and my seat number was #314. :)

Whatever happened to our 314 Megathread?

Wasn't it on the old board? :confused Not sure.

I saw 315 somewhere, written on some paper slip in the ground, a few days back.

314 is around often.
Last episode of MASH I watched was 314.
And I work in a laboratory, and there are so many blood samples that I'm bound to bump into 314 every once in a while. Every time that happens I think of Keen.

Can't say I've seen it in a random occurence...

I saw 314 plainly printed on something within Gears of War 2. I recently bought it and during one of the cut scenes it was decaled on a vehicle.

Now I don't think it was a sheer accident. I mean this isn't the first time Epic (Mega Games) has made references to ID's Commander Keen. (Jill of the Jungle, Jazz Jackrabbit 2... maybe something else...) So chances are that this is just another ACTUAL cameo of our great hero.

It is? If it were, they'd add a few interesting other stats or information to the machinery, I'd think... As it is, this is just a machine called Rig 314.

People usually release projects for it. We also correct anyone who says it is PI day.
Forget it.

I always celebrate Keen Day on the third of... some non-existant month. Which is to say I haven't celebrated it yet. :p

Just in the right time to revive the 314 stupendous thread:

A friend visited me yesterday in Heidelberg, and we went up to the castle, and tadah: It's exactly 314 steps up there.

I think I was the one who made the "314 megathread" on the old PCKF... unless there were multiple ones. Remember the spelling error - "Keen Sitings?" Yeah, I was a noob.

A few years back, I pulled a number for the deli, and I was number 314! (Actually, I might have gotten 313, then pulled another, just for that reason. Ha ha) I might still have that ticket somewhere, although the cheap ink probably faded by now.

I know I've seen it in a few places recently, but I was too lazy to give them any other thought.
