I never watch film trailers, but the poster actually gives me some hope that this film might well stick slightly to the books.

I wish they'd show the old animated TV series again.

I used to read the strips of Tintin as a young child.
Definitely looking forward to this.

Yeah, I remember watching it as a kid, they were split into episodes weren't they? Because I think they wre only five minutes or so, including the long title sequence and credits!
And also, hopefully it will indeed stick to the books - I have confidence in The Moff!
They were half hour shows, most of the two-parters except for one very disappointing one-parter which condensed two books into one.

I've been reading Tintina and Asterix since I found my Dad's books in the cupboard at something like the age of 3. This film had better be bloody good! :P
mortimer wrote:They have a great cast too - Andy Circus as captain haddock! Quite how Simon Pegg and Nick Frost can be the twins is a mystery to me...
And by being freaking awesome!
At least they should be able to be funny, even if they look nothing alike.

This could be good, but reading the names Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg doesn't really fill me with confidence... It's bound to have aliens behind it all.

You're thinking of Steven Speilberg and George Lucas.

ummmm yeah. As I said - I haven't watched the trailer. Given that it's an animation I am all the more overjoyed!

I enjoyed Thompson and Thomson's appearance in the trailer. It is very much their usual behavior. I wonder how well it will mesh with the book(s) on which it is based.

I remember when the likes of Tintin passed as acceptable nick jr. cartoons. Those were the days.

So is it going to be based on the Red Rackham's treasure storyline? That was always one of my favorites (that, and the Blue Lotus story). Hopefully it'll be good, Tintin was always one of my favorite cartoons and comics.
