A lot, a whole lot has happened in my Music Consumption since my last post here or in the new new album thread.

OOIOO - "ATS"

Just in case I somehow didn't already have a reputation for listening to Weird Japanese Music, here we go.

Just in case anyone's wrongly gotten the idea that I listen to Weird Japanese Music, here is some non-Japanese music that is really cool.

My daily modding music schedule for the past three weeks:
Metamorpheus - Steve Hackett
A Midsummer Night's Dream - Steve Hackett
Momentum - Steve Hackett
And then finished up with La Boheme (with Jose Carreras, conducted by James Levine) by Giacomo Puccini.

Seeing as it's Paddy's Day today... how about some choice pieces of Irish Rock'n'roll....

Van Morrison - Blowin' Your Mind! (1967)
Rory Gallagher - Calling Card (1976)
Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous (1978)
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire (1984)
Duke Special - I Never Thought This Day Would Come (2008)

Contrary to what the title might suggest this has one of the cheesiest and most beautiful heartbreak songs I know: "Still in love with you". Awesome song.

Hey, thanks for introducing me to Steve Hackett. I have never heard of him or his work, but I am quite enjoying it... although normally I don't like big orchestral pieces with lots of production put into it, because it sounds like "rich people music".

This is soothing though. Good for my soul right now.

I like this on loud, it imbues me with a sense of awe.

Rich people music. Huh. How interesting! Never thought about it that way.
Steve Hackett is known mostly for his work in Genesis (fav band) during 1971-77. I have about 32 Hackett albums (studio and live), soon to add one more to my collection. "Beyond the Shrouded Horizons" is in the mail because the second I found out Hackett did a version of Tommy, I simply had to own it:
