What Music Are You Listening To?
Thanks to Dr. Colossus and The Terror from Outer Space, I have been introduced to Die Toten Hosen. I'm still learning German, so I was glad to have found a German group that is not Rammstein (not into heavy metal not from the periodic table). My biggest complaint is that the diction can be a bit sloppy.
Steh Auf, Wenn Du am Boden BistThis has been my unofficial theme recently.
Strom-Heavier than I normally prefer, but it's a good pump-up song with a killer (heh) music video.
Altes Fieber-Great music video, but I'm puzzled by the use of American money.
Walkampf- This is a silly song, but I like how happy it is.[/url]

Ah, jazz lost one of its greatest legends, Horace Silver, today.

Just listened to Black Sabbath's 13 yesterday, can't believe I haven't done it earlier. It shares the same dark theme as their early 70s albums. Pure goodness. Some of the songs really do feel as if they were composed back in the first Ozzy era, just didn't make the cut back then. I'm very pleasantly surprised.
Then there's Runnin' Wild by Airbourne, a relatively new band of rocking Aussies with a yummy guitar sound and a singer who sounds (and looks) like Brian Johnson and Bon Scott mashed together into one. Man, that guy is insane.
Compared to AC/DC, their lyrics are a bit lacking, but the music itself follows the old AC/DC formula closely and is amazing. Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women is possibly the catchiest riff I've heard in my life.
Haven't listened to their second album yet, will have to correct that soon!

I was talking to the band leader the other day and the name is actually changing next album. He's a great guy. Though the name sounds immature, the philosophy behind it - he believes women should run the world - puts it well into the realm of feminism too.
New album under a new name will come next year.

God that's awful...
I need to counter that with some completely different music to get this out of my ear.
Lee Moses - Bad Girl
Adrian Younge - Chicago Wind

Going to a Blue Man Group concert tonight with my wife. It should be a lot of fun, that and being the first concert we've gone to together that hasn't been free, or sponsored by our church or something. It's at the Starlight theater in Kansas City. Hopefully it won't rain tonight. But if so, we may be wearing ponchos for a different reason.

I've been trying to be a Happy Guy this week, but that's hard in this Modern Life.
