Double post because it'd be cool if everyone saw this link and it has been, like, a day since the last post.

I'M SEEING THIS BAND SOON! https://tiredlionband.bandcamp.com/

Triple post because see above.

She Rex - This Way: https://soundcloud.com/sherex/this-way

A pretty slick mixing of styles. Check it out. (It doesn't stay rap for long, for those who don't like that style.)

I wrote a quick review of the new Radiohead release: http://www.willpjk.com/newsfeat/radiohe ... t-work-out

Please excuse the site - it's still majorly under development.

Future Days waa the first Can album I ever heard. Nice one. Have you heard Monster Movie or Soundtracks?

What's the Tangerine Dream album like?

I've listened to Future Days quite a lot since getting it. Haven't heard Monster Movie or Soundtracks yet, still want to get those ones at some point

I like the Tangerine Dream album. I've seen it compared to stuff like Interstellar Overdrive from early Pink Floyd and that seems to make some sense

The Atavists - Bad Times
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1eDxQO6OoA

A Czech band with an absolutely mindblowing world-class stoner/surf rock sound. Can you believe that? Right, me neither.

All hate on my own country aside, those guys are astonishing. Fronted by the charismatic singer and elite guitarist Adam Krofian, they deliver a mighty falcon punch to one's eardrums that is enjoyable in a way no other band has ever come close to. I love it. Wish I had better headphones for this. Or a working amp for my speakers. OR BOTH.

This sounds really good!! The musical style of the Doors, Stones, Zep et al combined with the sheer heaviness of Kyuss or QOTSA. This was worthy of pausing 'Era Vulgaris' which I had just put on. In fact this is the exact kind of stuff that I want to do myself musically. If only I had the organisational skills...

And Nospike... why on earth would there be hate against your country??? I went on a long weekend holiday to Prague just under a year ago and found it to be one of the most excellent cities I've ever visited. Few moments in my life have felt as civilised as enjoying a strudel (with copious whipped cream) and pilsener on the balcony of the Lobkowicz palace with a few good friends whilst enjoying the spectacular view across the old city, before heading down to enjoy rabbit (yes I know I made Bunny Basher but, oh well...), wild boar goulash and potato dumplings with more pilsener. Definitely a top 5 European country to visit!

After writing all that, I'm still enjoying the Atavists!!

I dunno, I've never been too proud of being a Czech. It's a pretty long story. At least foreign people usually like us, so there's that. :p Thanks.

I've been listening to quite a few Flying Nun label (NZ) bands these past few months. Latest is Bailter Space. Check out the song Argonaut here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRq6UflLoIg

Their sound is quite varied. I recommend also checking out Splat, which certainly fits the decade in which it was released, the 1990s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxbSkmpZ2kg

And here they are in the 1980s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yroq3TkiiGQ

I've also been listening to David Bowie's Blackstar since it came out. Great stuff, and the two video clips which were released with it are sweet af. As I said in the David Bowie thread, the album is a career high and a fitting final release for the magnificent performer. My full review and a legal YouTube playlist of the album are here: http://www.willpjk.com/blog/musicnews/c ... -blackstar

Re: The new new music thread

Probably been a lot more music since I last posted but my most recently acquired albums if I recall offhand are:

Zapp - Zapp, Zapp II, Zapp III (in a 2-CD compilation thing)
Iron Butterfly - Original Album Series (collection of their first five albums (I assume it's their first five, it's definitely five albums though, four studio and one live?))
Talking Heads - Fear of Music

Haven't actually got around to listening to many of those yet though. For days it seems the only CD I put on is Soundtracks by Can over and over again?
