following spleen's post on ducktales. i thought i might bring up another 1990s cartoon that i loved watching as a kid every afternoon after school. captain planet was the highlight of my day. everyday for 6 years. i rarely never missed an episode. expect for the last few episodes of the series at the time (1996) only went to air in europe & therefore took another 10 years to be broadcast on the cable channel boomerang. i don't think i saw the very last episodes & i am looking for a dvd with all episodes from all 6 seasons but far as i have looked i don't think such thing exists. & all dvd's sold on the net are bootlegs. anyway do you remember this series?

Captain Planet! He's a hero!
Gonna take pollution down to zero!
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet's side!

Captain Planet! He's a hero!
Gonna take pollution down to zero!
Gonna help him put asunder
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder!!!

"You'll pay for this, Captain Planet!"

We're the Planeteers!
You can be one too!
Coz saving our planet is the thing to do!
Looting and polluting is NOT the way.
Hear what Captain Planet has to say...

THE POWER IS YOURS!!!!

Good ol' Captain Planet. I always found it hilarious how all the villains seemed to be destroying the environment and dumping toxic waste just for garg and giggles or whatever.

Yeah, it was one of my favourites. :)

Nothing'll beat Ed Edd & Eddy though.

It was a pretty crappy cartoon. I remember watching it as a kid, but the show wasn't anything like Batman, Spiderman, or Superman. Or, even better, the X-men.

In fact, the whole series seemed to be a lame ass attempt at indoctrinating children into hyper-environmentalists.

9-hour bump, lol

I heard about that movie not long ago. I'm not sure what the funniest part about this movie will be except for the fact that it actually exists.

Heh, remember when Captain Planet fought AIDS?
Too bad there was never a conservative response to Captain Planet, like The Lorax got. The world could always use more comedy gold.

I loved this show as a kid. I wished I could possess those planeteer rings - to do good deeds on one hand, and to punish other kids who annoyed me on the other :crazy

I remember there was a Captain Pollution in one episode. The ultimate anti-hero.

Wow... I just watched an ep on YouTube and I ACTUALLY DID SEE THIS SHOW! I just didn't remember what it was called.

Well that solves a 13-year long mystery. (That's about how long since I last watched it. Wow, nostalgia.)
