I don't remember what the last movie was that I watched (not much of a movie watcher), but the main one I remember from recent months was The Greatest Showman (2017). It's an okay movie overall, but the title theme "The Greatest Show" is possibly the best movie song I've heard

I saw Young Frankenstein yesterday. Yeah, it's kinda old, but I thought it was rather good, and it made me laugh several times! :lol

Anyone order fried sauerkraut? :mortlol Great movie. Probably going to see it again just because it's so rare these days to see a well-made, long movie.

to prepare myself for this very film I was watching "Once Upon A Time In America" by Sergio Leone once again. slow cuts, long shots, an eye for detail, emotion, pace and side stories... on the structural level a clear pioneer and obvious inspiration source for Tarantino, it seems. but of course there are hundreds and hundreds of other cross references to pop-culture and stuff one could spot. so it's definitely worth seeing it again.

next up: Scarface; wanna see Al Pachino mowing down his assassins with a grenade launcher-equipped M16A1

I trust you have been to see the "final cut" of 'Apocalypse Now' on the big screen.

Highlander. Now the haggis discussion from the Keen Meets the Meats thread finally makes sense. Or at least a little sense. :p

I watched Bad Boys for Life a couple nights ago. It wasn't as good as the first two, but still an enjoyable addition to the series.

The Thief and the Cobbler (Recobbled Cut Mark 4). Man, what a work of art! I definitely recommend it (either the workprint or the Recobbled Cut Mark 4), especially if you appreciate art and animation and have interest in seeing how far hand-drawn animation can go. Seriously, some of those scenes are so cool, it's insane! If you adore the animation of Roger Rabbit, then this is the movie for you! (Richard Williams, director of this movie, was the animation director for Roger Rabbit.) The movie has quite an interesting, complicated backstory (it spent almost 30 years in development! That's even longer than Duke Nukem Forever and OrbKeen!); it's too bad it never got finished in the way Williams had intended. There's so much inspiration to borrow from this movie; I totally want to see a Keen mod that has an optical illusion level or a War Machine-esque level!
