I've been playing a lot of Minecraft lately, too. Will make screenshots of my projects later (PC is apparently too slow to even play the game at a full framerate, so forget about seeing a video ).
Currently mostly working with cobblestone. I could use regular stone, but I can't be assed to waste that much coal.
Once you get underway coal is everywhere. Also Notch recently (sort of - it was one or two updates ago?) added charcoal - an identical coal substitute you can get from firing wood in a furnace.
The problem is that you need 7 or 8 logs to make five charcoal.
I've succeeded in making a compact, simple, powerful automatic TNT cannon. Load up, PUSH TEH BUTTEN, and watch those mobs flying!

Yeah, but I use it all to make glass. Making a glass castle.

Set up a server for me and a classmate/friend. We found this ridiculously deep cave system that just keeps going on and on and on... Lava streams and ore everywhere! (But hardly any diamond, wtf)
Because of that we have hardly made any nice buildings to show off above ground.

Servers are awesome. I'm on this server currently with a few other people, one of whom is this incredible miner (I sincerely think he can smell gold). We have more diamonds in a couple weeks than I would have ever hoped to get in several months, and my chest organization scheme is being severley put to the test with the sheer volume of everything we have. Guess where all my free time is going right now?
