The video posted in OP's pic is by some retard who snagged them from the Duke4.net community and made this terrible, terrible trailer... with terrible, terrible voice-over work.
Does anyone know where I could get the ORIGINAL source vids used in this garg trailer?
Nobody at Duke4.Net would give me the files, but supposedly there's a huge folder floating around, filled with Duke4 footage.

I don't know.... I'm excited, but I'm still not waiting for it. Well, until it REALLY comes out.

There's also the "Duke Nukem Trilogy": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K00DCK1l98
Yeah now it's only Commander Keen that is the REAL Forever.
Dunno if that's a good thing or bad... Yes it's bad. And Sad
Now i got all these nice games to look forward too - Duke Nukem Forever, Half-Life 3 (or episode 3 whatever) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and Fez! This is going to be crazy!

We had the Manhattan Project in 2001, so only 9 or rather 10 years.Sciz CT wrote:After thirteen long years, betting on Duke finally pays off.
Keep in mind that was an official Duke Nukem game, even if 3D Realms hired someone else to make it for them. And it was REALLY good too.
My expectations are low for DNF. I mentioned that it was being finished by Gearbox to a friend and he was like "Ah man, that's going to suck."
Was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. any good? I never looked into it.DSL wrote:Now i got all these nice games to look forward too - Duke Nukem Forever, Half-Life 3 (or episode 3 whatever) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and Fez! This is going to be crazy!
And don't forget Dead Space II, Metro 2034 and RAGE!
What about Duke Nukem Advance? That was in 2002.
Commander Keen has a small chance of someday being released as an anthology, or maybe having a series reboot. However, if Duke Nukem Forever doesn't sell, the duke will never see the light of day again. A new game after that would be like making a sequel to ET on Atari.DSL wrote:Yeah now it's only Commander Keen that is the REAL Forever.

Nah, I don't think so. Many MANY game companies see the amount of potential in Duke Nukem.
Let me put it to you this way, and I don't really care if some disagree, but this is how it is.
In videogames, Duke Nukem IS the American Hero. There IS no other videogame character that's as patriotic, unrealistic and downright 80's action hero like Duke Nukem. He's depicted with having the United States flag flying behind him, he OBVIOUSLY is "American," and anyone who disagrees is well, foolish. He's the action hero for the USA's public via videogames. He went to go save New York and while the mayor of the city was making a speech, people were PARTYING in the streets just because Duke Nukem was there.
Duke Nukem is too much of a powerful icon to just be abandoned like that. If game companies can get ahold of the "Duke Nukem" character, do you know how many would scramble and how high that bid would be?
Wasn't it, 2K that invested two million in DNF alone for the publishing rights?
It's like 3D Realms is becoming a holding company. A holding company... usually doesn't make any games, but occasionally will. They just lease out ultra popular contracts to their own companies or to others for a cut of the profits to make a game with their character.
Hopefully this means that we will see a LOT more Duke-
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Forgot what I was saying there.

Duke Nukem is sort-of the Sarcastic American Hero - he isn't the patriotic Captain America, he's a tounge-in-cheek action hero and that's what makes him Awesome! Sadly, that might have been lost in the new game if someone else came up with the story. That said...

I think you're forgetting Jazz Jackrabbit 3 hereDSL wrote:Yeah now it's only Commander Keen that is the REAL Forever.

And Monster Bash 2.
There's a fuclload of other examples you could list off. Pocky and Rocky (KikiKaiKai) hasn't done so well after the 2nd SNES game. I know there's a Playstation Reboot but I never got the chance to play it.

To be honest, a commander keen game released today would probably suck. It's not really the cute-platformer-games era anymore. Only Mario is the one still going I believe.DSL wrote:Yeah now it's only Commander Keen that is the REAL Forever.

There are tons of good games to look forward to so in the end, who cares about a new keen game? We've got the (good) old ones, plus the mods, so I don't really see the need of having a new game.
