I never understood why MS stopped including that game in Windows.
I wrote a piece some time ago about an easter egg in Hover! if you're interested:

(I've linked to my site, not to boost my traffic, but so that the embedded links and videos work properly. Also, my writing sucks.)

Does anyone know what is the name of this game:

Image

This is an image I draw back in 1994-1995. It was inspired by a game, where you control unstoppable ball, which connects only to poles (those grey lines in the picture). When connected to a pole, the ball stands still, only moving towards the pole. Pressing a key and the ball is unleashed in the direction you want, bouncing until it catches another pole. From what I remember, the original DOS game featured red brick walls.

So there's this old DOS game that I've been trying to find for years. It would be a whole lot easier to find if I knew the name. But I can't remember! Do you know what game I'm talking about?

The exe was named "mon"
It's a 4-player game
Players can be controlled by Joystick, Keyboard or Mouse
There were 4 characters, each having a name. I can't remember their names but it went some like "Zappo" "Zippy" "Zappy" "Zippo."
2 characters were male, the other 2 were female
The game would start after a deep voice said "GET READY"
Each character starts in their respective corners of the map.
Each character has 3 (or was it 4?) lives.
The map was like a maze. The walls were blue, the floor was purplish.
At random, cherries would appear in various places in the maze. When a character spotted the cherries, they'd say "Ah! Bonus!"
The game was like...over-head, arcade shooter style
The objective was the clear the map of all monsters.
I used to call the game "Monsters". That very well could be the name of the game seeing as how the exe was named "mon".
But I can't find a game called "Monsters"
Monsters are eliminated from the map by firing at them
Each character is equipped with a ray gun.
One female character had yellow hair, the other had brown.
One male character has overalls, the other had a red beanie.
When all the Monsters were cleared, a stage boss would appear.
After the stage boss is eliminated, the final boss would enter.
The stage boss and final boss could turn invisible at will.
When the final boss is eliminated, the gaming experience ends with it because it was shareware. So ever though we could only play 1 level, it was tons of fun because:
It was multiplayer,
Characters could shoot other characters
We battled for the top high score spot
The longer the level lasted, the faster the Monster became.
The Monster patrolled the map aimless, shooting lasers at the Players.
The Monsters were Purple and fat.
The stage boss was slim and green.
The final boss was rotund and red.

Hey everyone! I also have a game that I have forgotten over the years (or not really forgot, just can't find it).
It was a 2d platforming game in which you played as a caveman with blue hair, collected varios fruit-related points, and progressed through levels.

I always new the game as 'Caveman' (because thats what the shortcut was called), whether it was a DOS game or not, I would assume it was. I remember only playing 2 levels that would loop around to each other after level 2 was completed (whether it was the free version, I'm not sure). Other things I remember were that after quiting the game the tune to the song 'Great Balls of Fire' would play with a fiery background (possibly with credits), and after collecting a certian invincibility item he would say "I am invincible!".

As for how old this game is, I was playing it around the same time I discovered keen 4 when I was young, so about 12 years back. Hope I can find this game because it will bring back alot of great memories.

PS: I'm quite sure that this is not the games 'Ugh' or 'Caveman Ugh-lympics'.

Nah, the graphics were a lot less detailed, and from what I remember, there was just a plain blue background.

EDIT: After reading the lable on a softdrink can titled 'Club Soda Lemon Squash' I now remember that he used a club to attack enemies (the enemies appearance I can't recall).

Nup, I think it would have been a bit earlier than Congo's Caper.

I finally found it! The game I was looking for is Streetball, developed by... id Software!

Since this thread is now alive and all...
I'm looking for an old game named POD. You control a small... something, looked like a robot to me back when I had it, and you have to navigate a path of colored tiles on a black space background dotted with stars. Each tile changes color when you move from it, blue tiles disappear. The point is to make all tiles in the level vanish.

Then there was also that crazy pinball game but I don't remember pretty much anything about it... :p

So, gameplay similar to Hex-a-Hop?

Sounds somewhat like Prehistorik or Prehistorik 2.
