I'm kinda relieved this sounds crappy, now I don't have to spend money.
It really feels like an ultra-lame remake, no wonder it was released so sneakily.

I'm going to buy this some time this week, I hope, so when I do I'll record some HD vids and post it on You Tube to let you all know how it is. ;)
I'm not too hopeful though.

One question though, if I only have USD on my VISA card, (almost typed VESA lol) will I need to put some pounds (That's the British pounds, right?) on it with some sort of currency exchange or will the VISA system take care of that for me? :confused

I've bought international stuff before, and the bank always takes care of it for me.

isn't the game sold in euros? or are you buying from a different retailer?

I know that with our card, although it isn't a visa card, we are charged a currency conversion fee but no, we don't have to put in any special denomination of money. I'm guessing that it's the same for Visa but it might be worth going to the Visa website to check it out.

'told you, not worth the money. Unless the graphics are improved, which they don't seem to be :confused

Wow... if I can listen to the soundtrack of a modern game and know that I can do better... that's pretty sad.

If someone can find me a midi version of the song in that video, I could probably crap something better out in about 5 minutes...

Great! I'll be sure to check often for said videos.

Another thing about the soundtrack, I take back what I said before about it being 'not bad'. It's pretty bad.
I loaded up my original copy of Raptor on DOSBox using General MIDI music and a high-quality soundfont,
and realized that the 2010 edition could be much better given today's technology.
If they really gave two cents about this remake, the soundtrack would have been re-arranged by a metal band, or something. :dopekeen

Although some tracks in the 2010 edition admittedly sound much better than others,
such as the Hangar music, or other tracks that don't use electric guitar-like instruments.

if that's the case maybe just put that vid on repeat and play the old game in DOSBox with the music off? :crazy :bloody

I hope it's better, I really do. At least it's only a few euro. and if you don't have the game already then it's an improved way to get it legit!

So... All this is, is just the original game running inside DOSBox with a graphics filter (that doesn't even look good), plus a crappy-sounding MP3 soundtrack?

If so, that's pretty garg.

Its basically the same game, the filter which make the graphics better is ok.
I still prefer Tyrian
