IC that's new to me. but it makes perfectly sense.

lets' make some further free associations on an early post. this one is also a cinematic/atmospheric one, but in which way are these guys comparable?

To be honest, I'm sure if it is Rez, I've only ever played a little bit and it was a long time ago.

bon voyage

It's Journey by Thatgamecompany. Never played it, but I'd recognize that character from miles away.

And now for something completely different:

Sinistar! "Beware, I live."

Here's one from me:

oh nice. reverse search (because I have no idea which game this might be) gave me this:

That's Fatima from Arachronox. I really like the robot character and the shrinkable planet. The mini games were a nice change of pace from the repetitious battle system, which failed to get interesting despite the movement aspect. There wasn't much terrain to play with. I haven't beat the game yet. My save file is on my dead laptop. Gonna have to start from the beginning. Kinda rough on the eyes, Arachronox.

Yeah there's the all-time greats like Star Control, Tyrian and Commander Keen. But my favorite is probably this one:

I feel like somebody should comment on this. So here I am, commenting on it. This made me snicker.

Also, Journey is a fantastic game. I never played through the whole thing but I watched somebody play it, and then continue to come back to it every now and then to play through again and help out other people. It has such a great aesthetic, and the gameplay isn't lacking either.

With that being said, I have no idea what the latest game is.

The newest one reminds me of LIMBO, but it has been quite a while since I played that one so I can't say for sure. Also I noticed was no answer for the non-Journey game at the top of the page. It's one of the little grubs from Another World/Out of This World!

I intentionally cropped and rotated the Anachronox pic until reverse image search didn't work on it. The fact that it came back with tables is possibly the best result ever.

at least in a mood like way, that game could match up with LIMBO, but: nope!
Flaose wrote:cropped and rotated the pic until reverse image search didn't work on it.
used a quite equal approach. above all I also changed the color palette slightly.

I should mention: If anyone of you guys earnestly cares about unique gameplay ideas or indy-games in general, you better do not make any researches on this one. just grab a good copy on the developers web page, or play it on steam for free! I truly mean that!

for everybody else: good luck in researching this.
