Nope. I think I sais this before someplace, maybe you weren't around... MOM is a reference to MOM in World of Goo.
And in case you are wondering, I'm a guy.

I think it's hilarious that carmack thinks doom is serious and keen's a joke.

I made a .deh file a while ago that makes Keen blow Doomguy up with a series of Archvile attacks when you kill him. What a story Mark

Keen can jump though. He can easily hide out of Doom guy's field of view.

Huh? Who's Mark?

I always thought the doomguy-killing-Keen thing was really bizarre. Like, if Keen's hanging there, he must be dead already, so the doomguy must be a psychotic weirdo for shooting dead corpses that someone else killed in the first place. Or, if Keen isn't actually already dead (why are there four of him, anyway?), then doomguy is a sicko anyway for killing someone else, especially an 8-year-old hero. Kinda an odd scenario for Carmack to make either way.

not to mention keen is doomguy's ancestor, causing a time paradox. I speculate that there's a 5th, 'original' keen running around alive somewhere on an adventure through time in another epic battle with mortimer :foot

Okay, this has nothing to do with the topic though. Back on topic, please.

Also, I play other games besides keen. I'm partial to sidescrollers my self... also, I've played the shareware version of doom... it bores me, and I like keen better.
Combine Garg and Apples in a bowl, simmer over medium heat for several years. Season with a pinch of regret.

Okay then. :P
Now that I've played Doom 1 some, I can say more why I don't like it a lot. The graphics are a bit dark, which I don't mind too much, except for that makes me unable to see what's going on, even with my laptop screen at full brightness. Romero's traps were plain evil (ARGH, THE LIGHTS WENT OUT!), which is kinda annoying for folks like me who think they know what they're doing. The maps were confusing (a lot of fps games are hard to get around until you've played the game over and over), and the sound effects were a bit creepy, probably due to limitations of sound cards at the time. And those zombies just look too much like real people. But that's just my personal take. I can see how you like it, however. The gameplay was fun, and less clunky than I imagined from other fps games around that time frame. It wasn't dizzying at all, like I imagined it would be.
But you say Doom 2 is better, so maybe I'm only half correct here. ;)
