Old DNF Sidescroller

Post by Paramultart »

Apparently, a bunch of information was released on the (quickly abandoned) original sidescroller version of Duke Nukem Forever in 1996, including some screenshots.

Even more interesting, the engine was sold to some company to create THIS game, Alien Rampage:

You may need to set up a virtual Windows 98 machine to play this, since you can't run the installer in DosBox or 64bit Windows.

Interestingly enough, Scott asked me if I had any of the DNF side scroller screen shots because he wanted them for an interview he did for a magazine earlier in the year. I contacted the original developer in New Zealand, and they still had them. There were a ton more, I guess they all didn't get posted from the interview.

Isn't that the username of the admin on the apogee forums? Also, combine this with the fact that someone joined #pckf not that long ago today with the nick "theromero" and back in my day we knew how to finish our sentences but lost that ability with time.
