Starcraft maps

Post by Stealthy71088 »

So I've been working off and on on remaking the original starcraft campaign to make it a lot tougher and a lot more entertaining. I tried to make the computer play a little smarter, and added all sorts of sneaky tricks, all the while trying to keep it believable. I spend a lot of time testing a map before I deem that it's done, to make sure that it is playable. Does anyone on the forum play starcraft, and might be interested in trying out some of my maps?

Same here - I'd have to find my SC1 disc though - all I have is my Brood War CD.

Here's what I have that I've playtested into the ground.

http://uploading.com/files/1c842755/1-6.zip/

They're designed for SC1, not brood war. It's all perfectly beatable, but
it may take multiple saves/attempts.

Edit: They should play normally on brood war though.

Double Edit: If you need hints or something, just let me know! And if you're feeling particularly brave, post a video or replay.

oh man, indeed, I still haven't played 'em yet. sorry. I'm gonna review soon.

edit: I finally tried the first two. The second seems to be okay, and fun, the first is ridiculously annoying, with that hydra up on the hill where you can't kill it.

It's easier to kill the hydra if you lift off a building for sight.

Did the ultra give you any trouble?

I would gladly give these maps a try...

...but not now. I usually play StarCraft in colder weather (e.g. in the winter). After a few months I will probably install the game again and see what you have created :dopekeen

Hmmm, well, the games I play depend on my moods. There are days when I crave Commander Keen, but there also days when I feel zero interest towards it.

I noticed that some of these moods have patterns - e.g. I prefer playing real-time stratrgies during the winter :dopekeen

I do the same thing, but I don't think mine is seasonal. I think mine is more based on my average stress levels over the course of the week.... I'm not sure exactly.
