Duke Nukem 2 soundtrack remix v2.0 and a couple DOOM remixes
2019 edit: The remixes that used to be linked in this thread were woefully lackluster, used poor quality instrument sounds, and were made when I was still very new to mixing. These lo-fi remixes do not reflect my current ability at all.
Here are two DOOM remixes I made: Mainly just guitars and drums.
E3M3

Sort of a combination of E3M3 and Slayer's Behind the Crooked Cross.
The Demon's Dead

Duke Nukem 2 remix v2.0 (320Kbit MP3)

Months ago I remixed/"revamped" the Duke Nukem 2 soundtrack. V1.0 was the first release, v1.1 had a few changes, and now I finished v2.0. 2.0 has an all-new sound.
Here's a preview:

These sound WAY better than your first attempt.
Once I get done with my licensing exams this week (been studying since February, and it's consumed my life...being an engineer in the U.S is no easy task), I may have to re-visit doing a couple Duke II songs myself. I think I've got a partially done recording of 'Squeak' somewhere.
Anyway, nice job improving on your past work!

Here it is; it's about as done as I've had time to work on it.
It's in FLAC format; if anyone needs a .mp3 version, just say so.

Ehh... not bad. If I may be honest though, a lot of them sound really off-key during a lot of parts, and some of the instruments sound a little misplaced as well (I.e. the constant "knocking" in "Kick Butt") making tracks sound a little messy.
To be specific, some of the tracks that seemed out of tune were:
Squeak!! (0:10-0:49, 1:07-1:09. The rest sounds alright)
Be Gone (the guitar instrument seems to whine a tad too much, to the point where it gets off-tune.)
Prowl
Winning (Starting at 0:06 onward. Not hitting those notes right at some part, it should be higher, and the guitar sounds too quiet.)
So an improvement, but not the best.
"You Be Dead," "Out Of the Depths" sounds really good though, I don't quite see any need for improvement for these....
"He's Back!" is also pretty nice, though the guitar sounds too quiet compared to the other instruments IMO. Same goes for "Fight" and "Boss Theme" (also known as King Duke")''
But still you did pretty well. Keep at it!

Yes, I'm on DoomWorld: I'm "TheUltimateDoomer666" (a.k.a. "The Ultimate Doomer"), and "The Ultimate DooMer" is someone else.Bernie wrote:hey arent you from the doomworld forums?? im 'foofoo' on there (havent posted there in a long time though).
I made the Doom remixes a little too repetitive. Some better parts probably would have made them listenable.
It would be cool to see these remixes used in the game someday.

Also, there's always room for improvement in my remixes. They're good, but some can be better and hopefully in the future I'll continue to improve them even more.
