There's an old puzzle game for DOS - Supaplex.

The fans decided to make new levels but unlike Commander Keen they didn't try to change the behavior of objects for every new dataset.
How difficult would be that to implement?

Eh, reasonably tricky, especially if you want to fully customize things. But not too hard.

I'd like the strange behavior that Murphy gets killed if he pushes zonk over a snik-snak to be removed so that nothing happens. For no purpose - just for fun.

It'd be quite a bit of effort for something so small.

Just curious - did anyone ever completed all 111 original levels? As a kid, I always got stuck around level 90.

Yes, I have completed every single original level in Supaplex.

There's a similar game for old Apple computers - Infotron.

The author had realized that simply abandoning the game is useless so he released it as open-source project. But as far as I know it's some seldom programming language. You can download the source codes for free but you're on your own - there's no official support for that game.
