So I did a playthrough of crystal caves 1 and I found that I had $999,750 at the end of the game. Mylo then went and cashed in the crystals, and that gave me a little over 1,000,000. Why did Mylo go crystal hunting in the first place? If the crystals only gave him ~$1,000, and that's all he needed for a twibble farm, he probably could have gotten the money another way. Further more, since you could finish the game with just the crystals and still win, no other points, why would Mylo spend $1,000,000 on a twibble farm when he could have gotten away with $1,000 and walked away rich?

Mylo really isn't the brightest miner in the galaxy...

Yes, he failed miserably, but wait until you finish episode 3...

I don't know. He probably could have stuck to harvesting space fruit.

Milo's problem is that he's actually a compulsive gambler. Now in many people this manifests as, well, compulsive gambling. However Milo, fr various personal reasons, is not one drawn to gambling and contests. This has helped hide his true nature for some time. However in the game we see his hidden compulsions arise. Certainly he could have taken $1'000 and walked away... but that's not enough. Indeed, 'raising the money another way' is not enough. Milo craves risk, big adventure, big rewards. He likes to live life on the edge, facing dangerous foes and tricky situations. Many have gone where he treads, and none have returned, and that's just the way he likes it.

Sadly his nature gets the best of him, again and again. As such his schemes nearly always fail, given time.
