Apogee Hint Sheets....

Post by Blacklion62 »

Hello, all.

Does anyone know where to get/ have any of the hint sheets that used to come with the apogee games? I have Paganitzu, but would like to get others, or start a library of them.

Thank you everyone

You can buy the 3D Realms Arcade Collection. Each one of the games has its own (scanned) PDF manual. Some of these manuals contain cheat sheets as well.

The digital copies from GOG.com also seem to come with scanned PDF versions of the hint sheets (pre 1993 games) or manuals (post 1993 games). Some games (like Duke Nukem 1 + 2) also shipped with an "on-disk hint sheet" some time later (the versions of Duke 1+2 that are on the Duke Nukem 3D v1.3D CD have these, for example), but that's just a text file wrapped with a text viewer program and probably not what you wanted.

In 2009 Joe Siegler scanned all the hint sheets and manuals and published them on the 3D Realms website.
Too bad you can't download them anymore from there. :(

Thanks for the info. I downloaded all the scanned manuals back in the day, but I didn't download the hint sheets. Since I knew the old 3D Realms website still exists (legacy.3dreams.com instead of www.3drealms.com), I just changed the "www" in your links to "legacy" and found that all the files are still there.

Try these links:
http://legacy.3drealms.com/tech/hintsheets/
http://legacy.3drealms.com/tech/manuals/

You're welcome.

I remember, before I even had downloaded and played Keen4, finding the Galaxy cheats and exhilaratedly jotting them down on a piece of paper to run home and try them in Keen1... I was bewildered when nothing happened. A slow kid, some might say.
