Looks like they finally made their downloads compatible for vista. And now Wolfenstein 3D is freeware! (pretty sure it wasn't before, right?)

Re:
It was really about time they revised that online store of theirs. It was horribly outdated (and the games horribly overpriced).

If you click on the "Buy It" icon on the main "Games" page for Duke Nukem Manhattan Project it takes you to Amazon.com. If you click on the game box icon and then the "Buy It" icon it takes you to their new distribution system.
So what's the deal with 3D Realms shutting down. Anyone know the real story? The new update says that it was only the development at 3D Realms that shut down. Is 3D Realms still a publisher or are they totally down and out?
Who will the profits from these game sales go to? What is it funding now?

Apogee Software Ltd. (which is to say 3DR's legal business name) still exists, though it seems to have been pared down to Broussard, Miller, and maybe a handful of other guys. 3DR as a development team was laid off entirely, due to an alleged lack of funding. There's no telling what exactly the company is doing at this point, though I imagine it largely involves the legal dispute with Take-Two. All profits from their online store, Duke 3D XBLA, and whatever else they might still have up for sale here and there still go directly to them as they always have.Galaxieretter wrote:So what's the deal with 3D Realms shutting down. Apogee Software LLC, the Duke Nukem Trilogy developer, is a separate entity entirely and has not been effected.
